Privacy Policy

PaperSprout is designed for teachers, parents, and tutors. This policy describes our actual deployed architecture: client-side worksheet generation, zero student account collection, and minimal static web delivery.

Classroom & Student Privacy Commitment

PaperSprout does not require user accounts, student logins, or classroom rosters. All worksheet settings and generated math problems run inside your web browser. Blank “Name:” and “Date:” lines on printed pages are filled in on physical paper—never entered into or stored by our website.

Section 01

1. Overview & Scope

PaperSprout provides browser-based printable worksheet generators across Elementary Math, Print Handwriting, English Language Arts, and Elementary Science, along with accompanying instructional guides for adult educators, parents, and tutors. This policy explains what information is—and is not—processed when you visit our pages, save presets, or generate worksheets.

Section 02

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Unlike online testing platforms that track individual pupil scores or maintain cloud classroom rosters, PaperSprout operates as an account-free stationery studio:

No Student Records

We never ask for or collect children's names, birthdates, school IDs, email addresses, or performance scores. If an educator chooses to type custom practice words or a child's first name for tracing in Handwriting Studio, that text remains entirely in local browser memory and is never uploaded or saved.

No User Accounts

There is no registration database, password storage, or server-side profile tracking in this application.

Section 03

3. Client-Side Generation, Local Storage & URL Sharing

When you customize a worksheet title, choose an operation or skill, or click “Download PDF,” all calculations, SVG previews, and vector PDF generation happen locally in your browser using JavaScript and CSS. Your worksheets are not uploaded to a backend server.

Local Browser Storage (Presets): If you choose to use the “Save preset” feature, your configuration settings (title, difficulty, question counts, and optional question seed) are stored solely in your web browser's standard local storage (localStorage) on your personal device. This data stays on your machine and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data or cache will remove these locally saved presets.

URL Query Parameters & Safe Sharing: When you click “Share” to send a worksheet to a colleague or student, your current configuration parameters (such as operation, grade, difficulty, layout, or question seed) are encoded into the URL query string. To protect personal privacy, sensitive patterns (such as email addresses and telephone numbers) are automatically sanitized and stripped before URLs are generated. Furthermore, in Handwriting Studio, educators can choose whether to include or omit custom practice words from the shareable link. Anyone opening the link uses those parameters to reproduce the exact same worksheet in their own browser without requiring an account or server record.

Section 04

4. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising Status

PaperSprout uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to measure aggregated, non-personally identifiable website traffic (such as page visit counts, popular worksheet topics, and general device categories) to help us understand which printable resources are most valuable to educators. To safeguard visitor privacy, potentially sensitive query parameters (such as free-form practice text, student names, and email addresses) are automatically redacted before URLs are reported to analytics servers. Google Analytics does not collect student records, names, or confidential information. The site currently does not host third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense) and remains 100% ad-free.

Future Advertising & CMP Requirements: If advertising networks such as Google AdSense are integrated in a future release to support free web hosting, this Privacy Policy will be updated prior to tag deployment. In the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising monetization will require a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) supporting the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF v2.3, mandatory for new TCF consent strings from March 2026) to collect explicit user consent before non-essential cookies or personalized ads are delivered. Currently, no CMP is active on PaperSprout, and no third-party advertising scripts are loaded.
Strict Print & UI Boundaries: Under all circumstances, printable worksheet sheets, exported vector PDFs, error and 404 pages, and empty-result library screens are guaranteed to remain strictly ad-free to prevent ink and paper waste and maintain classroom focus. Online ad units will only ever be placed outside printable paper borders and separated from print, download, share, and generator controls.

Section 05

5. Audience & Child-Directed Content (COPPA & Regulatory Transparency)

PaperSprout is an educational productivity tool designed and operated for adult educators, schoolteachers, tutors, and parents to create, format, and print classroom practice materials for elementary school learners. Children do not create accounts, log into the platform, or submit personal data to PaperSprout.

Commitment to Children's Online Privacy: Because our printable worksheets are used by elementary students in classroom and homeschool environments, PaperSprout takes proactive measures to avoid collecting or profiling children's personal information:
  • No student names, ages, or performance records are ever stored on or transmitted to our servers.
  • Blank student name and date lines are completed with a physical pencil on printed paper.
  • If advertising is integrated in the future, the website owner will evaluate child-directed treatment under COPPA and applicable regulations, requiring non-personalized advertising tags (such as Google's tag_for_child_directed_treatment / TFCD) wherever appropriate.

Section 06

6. Static Hosting & Standard Web Delivery

PaperSprout is compiled as a static website. Like any website on the internet, our static hosting provider and font delivery service (Google Fonts) process standard HTTP request metadata (such as IP address and browser user-agent string) solely to deliver the requested web pages and stylesheets securely over HTTPS.

Section 07

7. Contact & Privacy Inquiries

If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message solely to respond to your inquiry. We never sell or rent contact email addresses.
